Under MMUY, selected applicants receive a maximum of ₹10 lakh in financial assistance, divided into two parts:
✅ Government Grant (Anudan) — ₹5.00 Lakh (50%) — No repayment. Completely free of cost.
✅ Interest-Free Loan — ₹5.00 Lakh (50%) — To be repaid in easy installments.
✅ Note for Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Yojana: The loan component carries 1% interest.
The money is NOT given as a lump sum. It is distributed in 3 installments, and each installment is released only after the applicant submits a Utilization Certificate for the previous one. Installment 1 — After 6-Day Training Released directly into your Current Account after completing mandatory training. Usage: Project site preparation (₹1.50 lakh) + Electricity connection & Safety Kit (₹25,000) + Other expenses (₹25,000) Installment 2 — After Uploading Proof of Installment 1 Usage Must upload Utilization Certificate within 90 days of receiving Installment 1. Usage: Machinery and equipment purchase Installment 3 — After Uploading Proof of Installment 2 Usage Must upload Utilization Certificate within 90 days of receiving Installment 2. Usage: Remaining project cost and Working Capital ⚠️ Important: All payments above ₹10,000 must be made through online modes only — RTGS, NEFT, Cheque, DD, UPI, or Net Banking. Cash payments will not be accepted.
MMUY 2025-26 is divided into 6 sub-categories. Each category has its own eligibility criteria. Read carefully before applying: 🔹 Mukhyamantri SC/ST Udyami Yojana Eligible: Male/Female applicants from Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe communities Target: 2,000 per component 🔹 Mukhyamantri Ati Pichhda Varg Udyami Yojana Eligible: Male/Female applicants from BC-01 (Extremely Backward Class) only. Minority category applicants are NOT eligible. Target: 2,000 per component 🔹 Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyami Yojana Eligible: Female applicants from ALL categories and communities Target: 2,000 per component 🔹 Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Yojana Eligible: Male applicants from General category and BC-02 only. Minority category applicants are NOT eligible. To apply for MMUY, ALL of the following conditions must be met: ✅ Must be a permanent resident of Bihar — Domicile certificate is mandatory
✅ Educational Qualification: Minimum 10+2 / Intermediate / ITI / Polytechnic Diploma or equivalent
✅ Age: Between 18 and 50 years
✅ Business Structure: Proprietorship Firm, Partnership Firm, LLP, or Private Limited Company
✅ Project Location: The business must be established in the same district where the applicant is a permanent resident. Violating this will lead to application cancellation.
✅ PAN Card: For Proprietorship businesses, the unit must be registered on the applicant's personal PAN card
✅ For Divyangjan Yojana: Valid UDID Card with 40% or more disability is mandatory

MMUY applications are 100% online. Follow these steps carefully: Step 1 — Visit the Official Portal Go to udyami.bihar.gov.in and complete your Online Registration based on your category. Step 2 — Select Your Category Choose from SC/ST, OBC, Women, Youth, Minority, or Divyang — based on your eligibility. Step 3 — Choose Your Trade (Project) Carefully select one trade from the list of 74 options. This is a critical decision — once selected, NO changes are allowed under any circumstances. Step 4 — Upload Required Documents Scan and upload all mandatory documents on the portal. Ensure they are clear, complete, and correctly formatted. Step 5 — Submit Application After submission, applicants will be selected through a Computer-based Randomization system, district-wise, based on the prescribed targets. Step 6 — Attend Mandatory Training After selection, you must attend a 6-day Non-Residential Training Program. You will be given 2 chances to attend. If you are absent on both occasions, your application will be permanently cancelled. Step 7 — Open a Current Account & Receive Installment 1 After training, open a Current Account in the name of your business unit. The first installment will be transferred directly via RTGS/NEFT. Step 8 — Upload Utilization Certificate Within 90 days of receiving each installment, upload the Utilization Certificate on the portal. Failing to do this will block your next installment.
The ₹5 lakh loan component of MMUY must be repaid as follows:
✅ Repayment begins 1 year after the release of the 2nd or 3rd installment
✅ All repayments are made online through the Payment Gateway on udyami.bihar.gov.in
✅ Failure to repay on time will result in action under the PDRO Act
✅ Misuse of project funds will result in full lump-sum recovery
✅ If the business unit is not established after receiving funds, the entire amount will be recovered
✅ Up to 25% of the sanctioned amount can be used for machinery upgrades with GST invoice
